Robert K. Ross, MD, President and CEO of The California Endowment, gives a compelling overview of the role that exposure to childhood trauma plays in the lives of troubled and chronically ill Americans.

After watching Dr. Ross’ presentation one of the questions all concerned, compassionate Americans should seriously be asking ourselves, our elected, civil, social, community and religious leaders is, “What real substantial changes in our society’s attitude and laws need to occur to prevent Child Abuse and Neglect that often causes young kids to mature into depressed, frustrated, angry, unpredictable, sometimes suicidal teens and adults as a result of experiencing the emotional and/or physical trauma of an abusive childhood?”

At 2:12:25 in this documentary about Mafia hitman and victim of Early Childhood Trauma/Abuse, Richard “The Iceman” Kuklinski, Dr. Park Dietz explains why young Richard most likely developed into a emotionally disturbed, paranoid, cruel, heartless teen and man who did not give a frig about anyone else, including his wife and kids.

Nationally Popular Victims of Early Childhood Abuse and Neglect

Read popular American rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur (Lesane Parish Crooks; June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996) lyrics to learn about his love-hate relationship with his mom, his great disappointment with his dad, and about Tupac’s frequent suicidal thoughts.

Read about how Tupac’s drug addicted mother accepted proceeds of the harmful anti-social acts Tupac raps/writes about committing against his peaceful neighbors. I have to tell you, reading Tupac’s lyrics brings back a lot memories of the horrific emotional child abuse I witnessed during the nearly twelve year I provided police services to Shawn Carter’s community.

Shawn “Jay Z” Carter (born December 4, 1969) is another victim of child abuse/neglect who raps/writes about the physical harm and fear he caused to his peaceful neighbors and community.

Reading Shawn “Jay Z” Carter describe the pain he caused to his neighbors and community, brought back painful memories, causing me experience much of the same anxiety and pain I experienced from personally witnessing the physical and emotional pain young Shawn Carter caused to individuals as well as an entire housing complex and surrounding neighborhoods.

In 1987, the same year emotionally depressed 2015 Grammy winner Kendrick Lamar was born, songwriter Suzanne Vega wrote a song about child abuse and VICTIM DENIAL that was nominated for a Grammy.

Suzanne nailed it, parents and caregivers do the most horrific things to their kids, yet many kids will defend their abusers, blaming themselves for their “blues,” bruises and injuries before admitting a parent/caretaker harmed them.

Have you ever considered what Childhood Abuse, Neglect & Maltreatment victim Kendrick Lamar’s life would be like if he was raised, nurtured, socialized and supervised by RESPONSIBLE, caring, loving family members who RECOGNIZED that placing ABOVE ALL ELSE the EMOTIONAL WELL BEING of their child(ren) will most likely result with a fairly or wonderfully happy child maturing into a reasonably responsible teen and adult respecting themselves, their peaceful neighbors and the authority responsible for maintaining peace in all American neighborhoods.

Source: (2) Mediatakeout – Trigger Happy Maryland Cop!!

Sadly, gun violence, community fear, POLICE ANXIETY and educator’s frustrations can all be linked to America’s expanding Culture of African American Child Abuse, Neglect and Maltreatment that nationally popular American recording artists and victims of Childhood Trauma, Abuse, Neglect & Maltreatment Kendrick Lamar and the late Tupac Shakur REPEATEDLY mention in their music, or speak about during interviews.

Ending UNJUST HUMAN OPPRESSION of American children that deprived depressed, angry, frustrated, suicidal thinking Kendrick & Tupac, as well as countless American children from experiencing a fairly or wonderfully happy American kid childhood with SAFE STREETS to travel and play on, will in my opinion sharply reduce police fear, concerns and anxiety when dealing with Americans of African descent.

Before concerns for my changing attitude as well as REAL concerns for my emotional and physical well being caused me to flee/abandon/transfer from a Brooklyn, NY community, I spent the first twelve years of my police career serving the community Shawn Jay Z Carter joyously raps about attempting to destroy with his indiscriminate 24/7 drug peddling trade protected and enforced by his crew/posse/gang’s semi-automatic ‘Mack Millis’.

Sadly, young American kids like Shawn Carter, the late Tupac, the late Freddie Gray, as well as Kendrick, his three siblings, his numerous cousins, many neighborhood friends, elementary and JHS classmates DO NOT have the option of packing up and leaving their mad world behind them when their mad world begins affecting their ability to remain sane, or being able to discern knowing or caring about right from wrong.

My twelve years of experiences as a Brooklyn, NY cop, robbery and murder investigator during the 80s-90s tell me some police officers need to do a better job of remaining professional, adhering to their training, keeping cool and not allowing the human suffering and UNJUST HUMAN OPPRESSION of children and teens many witness on a daily basis to erode their humanity or basic human respect for others.

Just as my experiences dealing with many depressed, angry sometimes suicidal people (NY Times May 18, 2015 – Rise in Suicide by Black Children Surprises Researchers) who were victims of potentially life-scarring Childhood Trauma, Abuse and Neglect tells me some married and single-moms need to do a MUCH better job of raising, nurturing, socializing and supervising newborns, infants, toddlers and children who mature into fairly or wonderfully happy, reasonably responsible teens and adults respecting themselves, their peaceful neighbors and the authority responsible for maintaining peace in all American neighborhoods.

Peace.

Delaware Voice contributor Taria Pritchett wrote, “We need more hope and less hating. We need more healing and less hitting. We need more empowerment and less envy. We need more collaboration and less competition. We need more bonding and less bullying.”

Ms. Pritchett wrote an excellent article, sharing intelligent, sensible insights and advice.

I am fairly certain the late Tupac Shakur an American recording artist and victim of Childhood Abuse, Neglect and Maltreatment would have agreed with Ms. Pritchett’s thoughts and concerns.

Obama Questions Why Some American Children Hate – No Answers

Does the late Tupac Shakur, a popular American recording artist and victim of Childhood Trauma, Abuse & Neglect, offer a reasonable explanation for why some American children “hate?”

Does the late Tupac Shakur, a victim of Childhood Trauma, Abuse & Neglect, offer a reasonable explanation for why significant numbers of American children are being impeded from maturing into reasonably responsible, well-adjusted American teens and adults who become scientists, engineers, business owners, educators and leaders?

Tupac Addresses African American Child Abuse/Neglect

Sadly, beginning at birth, significant numbers of American newborns, infants, toddlers, children and teens experience OUR nation’s # ONE HEALTH DISEASE known as “Childhood Trauma”, which far too often seriously impedes their development for maturing into teens and adults who become responsible American citizens, parents and leaders.

Sadly, a significant population of American children are INTENTIONALLY, IGNORANTLY or RECKLESSLY introduced to what Childhood Trauma/Abuse/Neglect victim Tupac Shakur describes as “Thug Life”, an acronym for:

“The Hate U Give Little Infants Fvvks Everyone”. ~Tupac on T.H.U.G. L.I.F.E.

“We don’t need no more rappers, we don’t need no more basketball players, no more football players. We need more thinkers. We need more scientists. We need more managers. We need more mathematicians. We need more teachers.”

“We need more people who care; you know what I’m saying? We need more women, mothers, fathers, we need more of that, we don’t need any more entertainers.“ ~Tupac Shakur

Tupac was well aware that not only are American kids being UNJUSTLY OPPRESSED and DEPRIVED from experiencing their full human potential, Tupac realized OUR NATION is being deprived of enjoying the potential achievements offered to ALL Americans by reasonably well adjusted kids maturing into responsible teens and adults who care about the future of OUR Nation.

Tupac is not alone in recognizing WHO is primarily responsible for neglecting his hungry belly, for failing to place his EMOTIONAL WELL BEING ABOVE ALL ELSE, as well as depriving his developing young mind from feeling SAFE, cared for and loved.

https://knutesniche.wordpress.com/2015/11/13/video-archive-american-men-women-sharing-thoughts-about-some-african-american-women-moms/

Heeding Tupac’s words, as well as the thoughts, concerns and/or pain shared by average Americans who felt compelled to record and share their opinions about WHO they believe is harming the image of responsible Americans of African descent, as well as harming OUR nation’s most valuable, precious and cherished assets, will NO DOUBT result with more happy children maturing into reasonably peaceful, responsible teens and adults caring about their own well being as well as the emotional and physical well being of their neighbors.

It is time to end “America’s War on Poverty,” correctly renaming our Nation’s expanding social disorder and # ONE HEALTH CRISIS known as CHILDHOOD TRAUMA, to

“America’s War on Childhood Abuse, Neglect & Maltreatment”

I’m sorry to pick on moms, though since ancient times they are the primary caregivers we look to keep us safe, cared for and loved right from our start.

Peace.

The entire barber shop went silent. The shock on her face said she didn’t know if she wanted to shit her pants or go blind. She stormed off and got the manager and I explained the situation to him in German. Barber Shop still quiet. The manager told me to sit down and he finished cutting my hair. I never saw her again. This video depicts horrific examples of men who were victims of childhood abuse and neglect, conditioning a young teen to embrace ‘The Street’ culture Baltimore Mom of The Year failed to protect her teen son from…not to mention representing the fear peaceful people living and WORKING in the community experience knowing depressed, angry, unpredictable teens and young adults need to vent their angers and frustrations for being introduced to a life of pain and struggle by irresponsible, “living wild” single moms and/or dads.

Depraved Indifference for Human Life?

What I see in this recorded act of criminal child abuse, is adults conditioning children to embrace the cycle of child abuse, child maltreatment and violence passed down from generation to generation by depressed Americans who are content living in the poverty they are primarily responsible for fueling when irresponsibly birthing children from selfishness, instead of the love between two committed adult partners.

“Yes I think I’m okay I walked into the door again
Well, if you ask that’s what I’ll say

And it’s not your business anyway”

“Barry Bonds is taking a swing at racism at his daughter’s elite private school.”

Perhaps Mr. Bonds should consider taking a swing at the Culture of Child Abuse, Neglect and Maltreatment responsible for significant numbers of nationally and internationally popular American recording artists of African descent creating American music artistry describing ‘people and community’ harming anti-social behaviors, as well as characterizing their moms, sisters, grandmas, daughters, aunts and nieces, aka the MATERNAL HALF of our population, as less than human ^itches or ^hores unworthy of respect?

Hi, MP.

I believe racism and inequality exists.

I also believe a culture of African American Child Abuse, Neglect and Maltreatment exists and deprives far too many American kids like Childhood Trauma, Abuse and Neglect victims Kendrick Lamar and the late Tupac Shakur from experiencing a SAFE, fairly wonderful childhood.

The same culture that frequently characterizes American child bearers as less than human *itches and ^hores unworthy of respect…much like Killer Mike Render characterizes American girls and women in his Rap Artistry.

While you may not I agree I believe Baltimore teen mom Toya Graham had no ethical or moral right to introduce SIX children to a childhood fraught with pain, struggle and hardships.

A mom saying she loves her kids while introducing them to a childhood of pain, fear and uncertainty is in my opinion a mentally ill mom.

Tavis Smiley’s teen mom introduced TEN CHILDREN to a childhood of pain and struggle. Last May I witnessed Tavis reveal to our nation he is the only one to become successful while his nine siblings continue dealing with “poverty.”

Congrats to Tavis for overcoming the horrific obstacles his mom placed in his path to eventual success. Blessing for his nine siblings who experienced Childhood Trauma during a critical period of their human/childhood development and continue dealing with the pain into adulthood.

MP, in my opinion “poverty” is a polite term for Child Abuse, Neglect & Maltreatment.

Peace.

Park Dietz explains why young Richard most likely developed into a emotionally disturbed, paranoid, cruel, heartless teen and man who did not give a frig about anyone else, including his wife and kids.

mookeychase shared, “My folks live in Lafayette Gardens that was no picnic,…”

Mookey, one sunny afternoon me and two anti-crime cops chased a young man through L.G., as he entered the front door of 433 he turned and fired a handgun at me from about 25-30 yards away.

I heard the bullet whizz by my right ear as I watched him disappear into the building never to be seen again. As far as I know this was the first of two times I came real close to becoming a homicide stat.

Sitting on a bench between me and the shooter were some old timers. I asked them why unlike everyone else in the gardens at that time, they did not scatter for cover when the shot was fired?

With a laugh one of the gents replied, “Officer, that kind of foolishness goes on around here all the time.”

Of course not one of the many people who witnessed this act of human depravity came forward to say they recognized the man who placed their entire community at risk for further depravity. 😦

This is another sad L.G. event I witnessed early in my career.

https://knutesniche.wordpress.com/brooklyn-ny-newborn-raised-to-be-a-baddd-boy/

Mookey, another sad reality is that social change and human evolution takes time. After enduring centuries of atrocities human healing takes time.

Growing up in the 60s listening to virtually all American musicians of African descent creating timeless, beautiful music the entire world could admire and boogie to, I was hopeful we would make a speedy recovery from the damage done to many of my American neighbors.

Unfortunately, though certainly understandably, significant numbers of African Americans were not having it. Frankly, as I matured becoming more aware of the unjust and inhumane way my African American neighbors were treated by significant numbers of Euro Americans, I understood their anger, resentment and lack of trust.

Unfortunately well-intentioned yet flawed social policies of the 60s opened the door for understandably depressed, angry Americans to begin building families dependent on their neighbors for support.

Mookey, we both witnessed what resulted from the depression experienced by significant numbers of Americans who felt cheated and demeaned, as well as peeved for willfully being deprived from experiencing their peaceful pursuit of L, L, (Love) & Happiness.

Mookie shared, “Yo my pops was a cop he went to school got a degree in Psychology and a masters when I was in 11 grade. My moms was an evangelist but they couldn’t stop me from hitting the streets but, it was their expectations that allowed me to better myself because they instilled in me that I could always do better.”

For me, not wanting to disappoint my folks and family was the reason I never placed myself at risk for being accused of committing nasty ‘people and community’ offenses. My parents were not perfect, though they did their best to instill empathy and compassion in my psyche as well as making sure I felt safe, loved and cared for. They respected me and sis so I felt obligated to respect them.

Mookie, I am curious to know what motivated you to become involved in The Street, knowing you would disappoint your folks?

Peace.

Obviously Cheris Nelson is justifiably angry and frustrated by the behaviors demonstrated by some of her neighbors.

I am curious to know if she ever contemplated who is primarily responsible for raising, nurturing and socializing children maturing into depressed, angry, frustrated teens and adults lacking respect for themselves and their peaceful neighbors?

Fatherless boys and their aching hearts.

Peace.
