A good friend has been teaching in the NYC school system for many years. He informs me he spends a good deal of time dealing with undisciplined, disruptive students, most are children of African descent. I have no reason to believe he would mislead me when relating his experiences.

I am wondering if there is a correlation between jamapediatrics research findings and disruptive school kids?

Depressed adults like 2015 Grammy winner Kendrick Lamar (born 1987) who raps about childhood depression and speaks to the media about his abusive early childhood upbringing may have some thoughts for why children experience Cognitive Dissonance causing them to become confused and frustrated as well as disruptive in classrooms.

sharpton
Reverend Al Sharpton – A Godly Man For Peace?

The Grio reports, Sharpton also pointed to rap artists, arguing that many of them are paid by white owned record labels to perform lyrics that degrade themselves and black women. He refers to them as “closeted Toms.”

Is Reverend Sharpton suggesting that more than thirty years ago when Brooklyn, NY rappers were selling their rap CDs from car trunks, prior to Rap becoming popular outside of struggling American communities, that Rao music artists were influenced by “white” record execs to characterize our/their moms, sisters, grandmas, daughters, aunts and nieces as *itches and *hores?

Why is Reverend Sharpton ignoring the fact that for decades many American teen girls and young women of African descent have done an extremely poor job of becoming good role models and nurturers for society’s young children?

It is my opinion Reverend Sharpton built a lucrative career fomenting racial strife while callously and wilfully ignoring America’s expanding and shameful National Epidemic of Child Abuse and Neglect, aka Poverty, that for decades has deprived untold numbers of emotionally abused and neglected young developing children from experiencing and enjoying a safe, fairly happy American kid childhood!

Childhood Abuse and Neglect that often leads depressed children to develop into depressed, angry, frustrated, unpredictable, sometimes suicidal (NY Times May 18, 2015 – Rise in Suicide by Black Children Surprises Researchers) teens and adults who often cause emotional harm and physical trauma to peaceful people when venting their anger and frustrations for irresponsibly being introduced to a life of pain and struggle by immature single moms who selfishly begin building families before acquiring the skills, PATIENCE, and means to raise and nurture a fairly happy, reasonably well-adjusted child maturing into a fairly happy teen and adult.

Quoting the May 2015 NYT article, “The suicide rate among black children has nearly doubled since the early 1990s, surpassing the rate for white children, a new study has found.”

Does the reverend have any idea who is responsible for traumatizing, abusing, neglecting, maltreating children to the point where depressed young kids, we’re talking elementary school age kids, believe their lives are not worth living?

In the 60s-70s virtually all American music artists of African descent wrote beautiful music praising, adoring wooing, lamenting, loving and respecting the MATERNAL HALF of our population.

Does Reverend Sharpton have an explanation or theory for why over the last thirty years or more, a significant number of American music artists of African descent have been characterizing our moms, sisters, grandmas, daughters, aunts and nieces as *itches and *hores, less than human creatures or people unworthy of respect, *hores to be used and exploited?

Over the decades, what has Reverend Sharpton, a man of God, done to promote peace, healing and understanding that we are all one race of people, each of us autonomous human beings seeking to peacefully enjoy our vision of Life, Liberty, (Love) and Happiness?

I guess that is a more acceptable term than characterizing females as *itches and *hores, much like some of the music performers he and his wife admire and/or invite to the WH.

Frankly, I am concerned about the character and values of a national and world leader who wants to be admired and respected as the “cool guy” by a population of Americans who embrace crude and rude behavior.

Mr. Obama is partially correct when stating African American communities are experiencing a problem not prevalent in other American communities.

IMO, there are three significant  problems impacting the lives of many of my American neighbors residing in predominantly African American communities and neighborhoods.

The first problem is:

A significant number of developing young children are victims of America’s expanding and shameful National Epidemic of Childhood Abuse and Neglect, Poverty, that for more than two generations has deprived untold numbers of American kids from experiencing and enjoying a fairly happy American kid childhood with Safe Streets to travel and play on.

Early Childhood Abuse and Neglect that often leads depressed, sometimes suicidal (NY Times May 18, 2015 – Rise in Suicide by Black Children Surprises Researchers) children to develop into depressed, angry, frustrated, unpredictable, sometimes suicidal teens and adults lacking empathy and compassion for others, though needing to vent their pent up negative emotions, often causing emotional and physical harm to peaceful people…instead of venting their anger, resentment and pain on the immature single moms and/or dads who introduced them to a life of pain and struggle by irresponsibly building a family before acquiring the practical skills, PATIENCE and means to successfully raise and nurture a developing young child who matures into a fairly happy responsible teen and adult.

The second problem is a direct result of our expanding and shameful National Epidemic of Childhood Abuse and Neglect, Poverty:

NY Times May 18, 2015 – Rise in Suicide by Black Children Surprises Researchers

depressed-kid

The third problem is the number of Americans like Mr. and Mrs. Barack Obama ignoring our expanding and shameful National Epidemic of Childhood Abuse and Neglect, Poverty.

Police-worn body cameras are the newest darling of criminal justice reform. They are touted as a way to collect evidence for criminal investigations, oversee and expose abusive police practices, and exonerate officers from fabricated charges. While the nation continues to debate how effective these body cameras are for police departments, less attention has been paid to the appearance of body cameras in other public

I am a proponent for police body cameras.

Also, I am hoping when camera technology proves its worth as a invaluable evidence collecting tool for prosecuting bad guys or gals, for protecting police officers from unfounded complaints, as well as identifying officers who require further training or officers who have no business serving the public in a LE capacity, we will use camera technology to protect abused and maltreated children by monitoring the common area of homes in which caregivers have established a track record for failing to properly raise, nurture and/or supervise their children.

Children who feel safe and protected are happy children who mature into happy teens and adults, making them less likely to become involved with police while peacefully pursuing their vision for L, L, (Love) and Happiness.

Children who do not feel safe and protected grow up depressed, often not giving a frig about anyone, more inclined to commit anti-social acts that emotionally or physically harm their peaceful neighbors, getting the police involved and subsequently filling our prisons with depressed teens and adults who wish when they were kids, there was a camera in their home to make them feel safe.

Early in my police career when I was assigned to the Brooklyn community Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter raps/writes about attempting destroy by selling poison to depressed people living and working in his community, and rapping about engaging in extremely harmful anti-social behaviors designed to protect his drug operation from rival gangs in adjoining neighborhoods, I really wish I had a body camera to document the human dysfunction in the community that caused me and peaceful people living or working in the community to fear for our safety.

HOWEVER, police body cameras have one MAJOR drawback that impacts a significant number of people in many American communities.

NYS law permits police officers to use “Discretion” when investigating “traffic infractions.”

In other words police do not have to issue a traffic ticket, they are permitted by law to “warn and admonish” an alleged traffic law violator.

Here is where the big HOWEVER comes in. When a cop lawfully detains a person, and during the investigation locates a small amount of crack, cocaine, heroin, ect, on the detainee’s person, the officer does NOT have discretion, by law and PD guidelines he or she MUST arrest the person committing a CRIME in the officer’s presence.

decks-heroin

I know for a fact during the 80s and 90s there were dozens and dozens of people living or working in Brooklyn, NY possessing small amounts of illegal dangerous drugs, who were detained by police though they were never arrested and charged with committing drug crimes.

How do I know? Because I did NOT arrest every single person I observed possessing a small amount of narcotics or narcotics paraphernalia.

If I were to arrest every person I observed possessing a small amount of narcotics I would have spent much of my career processing and testifying about drug arrests – taking from me valuable time needed to locate and identify dangerous, depressed, unpredictable, sometimes suicidal (NY Times May 18, 2015 – Rise in Suicide by Black Children Surprises Researchers) teens or adults with guns and box-cutter razor blades who were violently robbing their peaceful neighbors in order to acquire funds to purchase illegal drugs, sneakers or the latest clothing fashion craze.

Frankly, if there was a body camera recording my self-initiated police investigations I would be very reluctant to disregard NYS law and NYPD guidelines by ignoring small amounts of illegal dope or other contraband my body cam recorded me discovering on a person.

A big part of being a good cop is possessing and using common sense. My common sense told me, the community was better served by me ignoring these low level drug violations while using them to spread good will and possibly add another informant’s name to my list of neighborhood snitches who benefited from my good will.

One thing I am fairly certain of…the people who become incensed that Americans of African descent are disproportionately arrested for drug offenses, well, they would really go out of their minds if cops were actually arresting every person they discovered possessing a small amount of illegal narcotics.

Despite this drawback to police body cameras, I really wish I had one recording my activities.

I am inclined to believe after video and audio recordings of my investigations and arrests were made available to defense attorneys, more attorney’s clients would accept Plea Deals resulting with me spending more time investigating crimes and much less time sitting on a hard bench in a courthouse hallway waiting to testify for The People.

Come to think of it, why are peaceful Americans allowing prosecutors to offer plea deals when police have gathered on video unimpeachable evidence that a defendant committed the crime(s) he or she is charged with?

Bring on police body cams!

Black Revenge More Important than Post-Racial Harmony, Black Lives Matter, Obama,

Canadian Free Press reports: It seems like just yesterday that a young, clean-cut, articulate Democrat senator from Illinois captured the imagination of the nation and the entire world with ringing oratory and powerful promises of “hope and change.”

Among Barack Obama’s most inspiring words back then was his lofty promise to usher in a “post-racial” era in which, under his leadership as the first American president of color, divisions between the races would be reconciled and racial healing would commence, from sea-to-shining sea.

In regard to Tommy Sotomayor’s request I do not have physical images of the child abuse I’ve witnessed, the images are stored in my mind, placed there during the years I provided police services to people residing and working in New York City.

I try to calmly relate my experiences witnessing child abuse as a uniform cop and investigator during the nearly twelve years I worked in Brooklyn, NY community that child abuse victim Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter raps/writes about attempting destroy by selling poison to people living and working in his community, and rapping about engaging in extremely harmful anti-social behaviors designed to protect his drug operation from rival gangs in adjoining neighborhoods, as well as intimidate and cause fear to peaceful people living and working in the Marcy Houses and surrounding neighborhoods.

However, I am told my writings are not always sensitive. I apologize if my frustrations seep into the my accounts of personally witnessing child abuse, as well as how abuse/neglect adversely impacts the lives of developing newborns, infants, toddlers, children, teens and their communities.

Over the past few years I’ve watched quite a few horrific video recordings of adults, themselves victims of child abuse and neglect, committing criminal acts of child abuse and maltreatment against teens and children.

These two, well, see for yourself…

Read popular American rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur (Lesane Parish Crooks; June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996) lyrics to learn about his love-hate relationship with his mom, his great disappointment with his dad, and about Tupac’s frequent suicidal thoughts.

Read about how Tupac’s drug addicted mother accepted proceeds of the harmful anti-social acts Tupac raps/writes about committing against his peaceful neighbors. I have to tell you, reading Tupac’s lyrics brings back a lot memories of the horrific emotional child abuse I witnessed during the nearly twelve year I provided police services to Shawn Carter’s community.

Shawn “Jay Z” Carter (born December 4, 1969) is another victim of child abuse/neglect who raps/writes about the physical harm and fear he caused to his peaceful neighbors and community.

Reading Shawn “Jay Z” Carter describe the pain he caused to his neighbors and community, brought back painful memories, causing me experience much of the same anxiety and pain I experienced from personally witnessing the physical and emotional pain young Shawn Carter caused to individuals as well as an entire housing complex and surrounding neighborhoods.

In 1987, the same year emotionally depressed 2015 Grammy winner Kendrick Lamar was born, songwriter Suzanne Vega wrote a song about child abuse and VICTIM DENIAL that was nominated for a Grammy.

Suzanne nailed it, parents and caregivers do the most horrific things to their kids, yet many kids will defend their abusers, blaming themselves for their “blues,” bruises and injuries before admitting a parent/caretaker harmed them.

“Yes I think I’m okay I walked into the door again
Well, if you ask that’s what I’ll say

And it’s not your business anyway”

Video – Alabama Police Detain Citizen

pub-safety
Alabama Police

via Tumblr.

Based on evidence presented in this vid, do we know for sure the officer did not have reasonable suspicion to detain this man?

Under certain circumstances the Supreme Court allows police to lie. This is one of them.

Could the officer have detained this man based on a general physical and clothing description, or screenshot from a security camera depicting the image of a rape suspect in the area?

Frankly, back in my police work days, when I approached and politely questioned in public a person who did not respond like the average law abiding citizen, my level of anxiety rose and my suspicions became greater.

I lied many times as to why I was questioning or detaining a person.

For my own personal safety I was not about to tip my hand by informing a person I detained that I suspected them of committing a violent or felony crime. Doing so would make sense, tactically.

When I detained a possible robbery suspect, I’d begin the questioning by asking if they have any info or knowledge of a burglary that occurred around the corner, placing them at ease, having them believe I was not looking for them, thereby opening the door for the suspect to be more cooperative thinking he’s in the clear.

What I see in this vid is an officer patrolling his beat, doing his job of keeping the residents safe in their beds.

I also see a citizen who instantly distrusts the police and seems to have a problem with the officer trying to protect his neighbors and community.

The extended video:

After locating and watching this 11:00 minute video of the same police stop, I’m thinking I met plenty of dudes like Corey, talkative sinners.

Many sinners in the Brooklyn community I served were more polished than Corey, employing a well practiced Rap, sharing a smooth smile while attempting to portray themselves as peaceful people.

You have to keep in mind, sadly The Street Culture Baltimore Mom of The Year struggled to keep her depressed teen son Michael from embracing, takes hold of and influences youngsters at a very young age.

Developing and perfecting skills such as lies, deceit and fraud are integral to surviving in The Street Culture, as well as the culture of Child Abuse and Neglect that harms most all children who mature into young teens embracing and fueling The Street Culture.

Opposed to a guy who flees or fights, I can envision a slick sinner; a guy who likes to talk his way out of trouble, incorporating the camera when offering his smily face “Not me, Officer, I’m cool” Rap, or his indignant “I know my rights” Rap, while strapped with a Glock in his waistband.

Quick story. Very early in my career I’m assigned to a foot post in Alphabet City when a 911 call for auto-stripping around the corner from my post is assigned to a sector car. Bored as heck I decide to walk around the corner to see what’s up.

Rounding the corner I learn the sector car has already arrived on the scene and is questioning a suspect before cuffing him.

What happens next will remain etched in my mind FOREVER.

One of the arrestee’s companions, a man in his mid-thirties lurking in the area, his t-shirt tucked into his jeans, a brown paper bag tucked into his waistband, approached a more seasoned officer, rudely protesting his friend’s arrest.

He was within three feet of the officer when the officer reached for the paper bag, deftly removing it while calmly announcing, “I’ve got a gun here.”

“Huh, did I just see that? Did a guy with a gun tucked in his waistband just get up in a cop’s face?”

This one experience went a long way toward shaping how I deal with people when representing The People in an official capacity.

This eye-opening experience also alerted me to the fact that I had to take my head out of my butt and become more observant. The seasoned officer who spied the gun later told me he discerned the shape of handgun’s grip in the bag. I thanked him for the lesson in police work.

With that said, I’ve learned there are some really screwed up people in our world, capable of doing ‘anything’.

One of the challenges of being a cop is trying not to judge a book by its cover while keeping in mind, “People are capable of doing or saying ‘anything’.”

[Video] Sheriff Clarke: Dem Debate ‘Plantation Politics,’ Emotional ‘Enslavement of Black People,’ and ‘Whoring for Votes

As always Sheriff Clarke speaks the truth, Larry Elder shows his frustrations while making valid points and Juan Williams copes with the Cognitive Dissonance he is often tormented by.

During the Democratic presidential debate, Mr. Bernie Sanders mentioned Ms. Sandra Bland. In my opinion the officer was out of line, acting outside the scope of his employment when asking Ms. Bland to extinguish her cigarette at the conclusion of the peaceful traffic stop.

With that said, a few months before she left us, activist Sandra Bland recorded a video declaring “War on the Gang-bangers and Thugs” who she believes have negatively impacted her quality of life as well as harming peaceful people in her community and many American communities.

Essentially Sandra was speaking about our National Epidemic of Childhood Abuse and Neglect, aka Poverty, that deprives untold American kids of experiencing a safe, fairly happy American kid childhood.

Childhood Abuse and Neglect that often leads depressed children to develop into angry, frustrated, unpredictable teens and adults who often cause emotional harm and physical trauma to peaceful people when venting their anger and frustrations for irresponsibly being introduced to a life of pain and struggle by immature single moms.

Did Mr. Bernie Sanders hear Sandra’s plea? And if he did, what does he plan to do to protect our neighbors like Ms. Bland from the Gangsta Culture?
